The MEA takes great pleasure in announcing the winner of the 2020-2021 Future Educator Scholarship. William Arthur Ward famously said, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” Each year the Moon Education Association provides a scholarship of $2000 to a student who plans on majoring in education, striving to become one of these great teachers. This year we have an exemplary applicant in senior, Brooke Crago. Brooke will be attending West Chester University this coming fall, majoring in Elementary and Special Education. Congratulations Brooke! Good luck to you as you go on to inspire the next generation of students.
2020-2021 Moon Area High School and Middle School Staff Scholarship winners. Thanks to generous donations by each staff, we are able to give 9 scholarships, this year, totaling $4500, to very deserving students. These students exemplify dedication, devotion, hard work and kindness. It was with great honor that we present this year’s scholarships to:
Brooke Anderson- attending Ohio University, majoring in Marketing, with a minor in Journalism
Rhianna Firmstone- attending Ohio Northern University, majoring in pharmacy
Michaela Florence- attending Penn State Erie, majoring in marketing and international business
Sam Kanfoush- attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, majoring in History Education
Alyssa Lucente- attending the University of Michigan studying Music Performance
Sarah Rock- attending Point Park University, majoring in early childhood education
Selea Rodriguez- attending Ohio University, focusing on Business
Alyson Seeley- Attending Gannon University in the Physician Assistant Program
Thea Woolslare- attending Gannon in the Speech Pathology program
